More and more, I have come to see music as consisting of shapes and colors – blocks
of sound with which we strive to achieve a total balance. In essence, music is a tidal flow
whose whole aim is to enliven and entrance the listener, to transport one from the mundane
state to that of the sublime. Do we always achieve this? No, clearly, but it is my primary
goal as a musician – to help engender an organic feedback loop with the listener and thereby
collectively enhance our experience of music.
